What is Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact is an action role-playing game developed by miHoYo and globally published by Cognosphere (HoYoverse). The game features an anime-inspired open world and an action-based combat system where players can switch between characters and harness the power of elemental magic.

Following the Version 6.1 update, Genshin Impact introduced a brand-new UGC (User-Generated Content) mode called A Thousand-Star Realm, which has attracted significant attention since its announcement. What Is Genshin Impact's Currency System?

Genshin Impact features an extensive currency system that plays a vital role in obtaining and upgrading characters and weapons, as well as participating in various in-game activities. These currencies can generally be divided into three categories: Premium Currencies, Wish Currencies, and In-Game Currencies.

Premium Currency – Genesis Crystals

Genesis Crystals are the only currency that can be purchased directly with real money. Players can obtain them through the in-game store or online recharge platforms such as the Genshin Impact Top-Up Center and LootBar.

Their primary use is to convert into Primogems at a 1:1 ratio.

In addition, Version 6.1 introduced a new premium currency exclusive to A Thousand-Star Realm called Phenomenon Cores. Players can use this currency to obtain their favorite five-star outfits through the limited-time Ode Event.

Wish Currency – Fates

Wish Currencies are used in the Wish (Gacha) System to obtain characters and weapons in Genshin Impact. There are two types:

• Acquaint Fate – Used for the standard permanent Wish banner.
  
• Intertwined Fate – Used for special limited-time event Wish banners.

Both types can be obtained through Primogems, Adventure Rank rewards, quests, events, the Battle Pass, or monthly purchases using Masterless Stardust.
